 Norman
arrived from London, England in 1980. He has a certificate in
Commercial Art and a Diploma in Fashion Design from London schools.
He has been registered as a master Photographer with Britain’s
master Photographer Association (AMPA). He is a Fellow of the
Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (FSWPP) and
received the association’s first Lifetime Achievement
Award in Recognition of Service the Photographic Industry. He
is a Fellow of Professional Photographers Association of Northern
Illinois (FPPANI), a Fellow of the Chicagoland Professional
Photographers Association (FCPPA) and has received all the Accolade
Awards of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International,
APM, AOPA, AHPA, AEPA, and the association’s Accolade
of Lifetime Photographic Excellence, ALPE. He has won the Harry
Hoyt Portrait Award and the Neil Handelman Wedding Award each
4 times. He has 6 times won the CPPA Print of the Year Awa and
4 times the Annual Sweepstakes Award and the association Man
of the Year Award and 2 times a President’s Award. Additionally
has won 14 Best of Show Ribbons and trophies in local, regional
and state competitions.
Norman has served as President of the Highland Park Chamber
of Commerce and on its board of directors for 9 years.
ABOUT DICK SMURLO
Dick joined Norman Phillips of London in March 2005. Dick is
a graduate of the University of Illinois and received a Degree
in Communication Design. He spent several years as an Advertising
Creative Art Director. He received the National Charter Tour
and Intercity Award, Printed Publicity Competition. Dick seeks
to follow in the footsteps of Norman. In this regard he Hung
his first print at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International
(WPPI) Exhibit in Las Vegas 2006. |
